Responsible for the entire sequence of cutting and welding operations for a wide variety of repair and fabrication work. Aligns and welds components of metal tools, wires, fixtures and other metal products. May utilize different types of welding systems for different tasks. Maintains a safe work area and may train apprentices in the trade. Responsible for the entire sequence of cutting and welding operations for a wide variety of repair and fabrication work. Performs basic equipment adjustments, routine maintenance, and cleaning. May perform miscellaneous jobs such as moving assemblies/machines or cleaning floors. The Burn department reports directly to the shift Foreman with the primary responsibilities of burning steel plate of various size and thickness. NC Burners are required to operate CNC and Plasma Machine and know how to set up each machine. NC Burners must produce quality burn material with no slag or gouges. They will clean all none complete material and identify all cut material and material returned to stock per company policy and procedures.
